Hardly anyone had heard of TCU freshman Brione Ramsey-Brooks before Tuesday, even though he’s impossible to miss in person.
Now, the offensive lineman is going hugely viral — and we mean huge.
Ramsey-Brooks stands 6-foot-5 and weighs 455 pounds. That weight is not a typo.
To put that weight in perspective, the average NFL player weighs 246 pounds. So the Horned Frogs freshman is almost like two NFL players, who of course are already famous for being very big.
More perspective: 445 pounds is almost a quarter-ton.
Ramsey-Brooks went viral on Twitter Tuesday after multiple outlets reported his story. It didn’t take long before some incredible highlights surfaced from his playing days at South Oak Cliff High School in Dallas.
Somehow, the Texas 5A all-state selection was only a three-star recruit, ranked as the No. 108 offensive lineman in the class of 2023, according to 247Sports.
Watching Ramsey-Brooks’ highlights, that doesn’t seem possible. The player nicknamed “Big Bubba” is not, however, currently listed on the Horned Frogs depth chart.
Sports fans who stumbled across Ramsey-Brooks’ story on Twitter expressed shock and even skepticism at his size, but everyone generally agreed he will be a fan favorite and a player to watch this season.
