The losses continue to pile up for Ohio State head coach Ryan Day.

Days after their 14-3 Cotton Bowl loss to the Missouri Tigers, another Ohio State Buckeyes offensive player has entered the transfer portal.

On3′s Pete Nakos reported Sunday night that five-star true freshman wide receiver Noah Rogers would be entering the transfer portal.

Rogers didn’t see the field for the Buckeyes this year, but with the potential departures of fellow wide receivers Marvin Harrison Jr. and Emeka Egbuka to the NFL, it seemed likely that he would factor in next season.

Rogers originally committed to Ohio State in 2022 and was the 57th-ranked player in the class. The North Carolina native picked the Buckeyes over Alabama, Clemson, North Carolina, and North Carolina State.

The belief is that North Carolina and NC State will both be interested in trying to bring Rogers back home.

Earlier in the offseason, Ohio State quarterback Kyle McCord also entered the transfer portal after Day wouldn’t guarantee his spot as starting quarterback next season. McCord transferred to Syracuse.

While Rogers seemingly would have factored in to next year’s plans, the Buckeyes, as usual, will have plenty of other options at receiver. Wide receiver Jeremiah Smith, 2024’s top overall recruit, committed to the Buckeyes and signed his letter of intent last week.
