Earlier this month, legendary Alabama Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban announced his abrupt retirement from coaching college football, leaving many to speculate what is next for the seven-time national champion head coach. And it sounds like some are speculating and suggesting that his next move should be in politics.
This week, Alabama political reporter Josh Moon of alreporter.com suggested that legendary college football coach Nick Saban should run for the state’s United States Senate seat, challenging current Sen. Tommy Tuberville, who is also a former college football coach at Ole Miss, Auburn, Texas Tech, and Cincinnati.
“Nick Saban for US Senate. Save us from Tommy Tuberville one more time,” Moon said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.
That suggestion from Moon attracted attention from the Alabama Democratic party, who quickly threw their support behind Saban as a potential candidate.
“We officially second this,” Alabama Democrats said in a post.
Obviously, this is big news that Saban could have a potential political career after his legendary coaching career, and it led to a lot of reactions on social media.
I’m so serious Saban wins that in a landslide https://t.co/FBrQ0uuJ8k

If he ran as a Democrat, 100% unironic support. https://t.co/mSSGSAEPb9

If he does decide to step into politics, it’s clear that he would have the support of the people.
