The LSU Tigers stormed through the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Saturday morning. Amid a dazzling performance by quarterback Jayden Daniels, one play exemplified the Fighting Tigers’ dominance over their opponents in Starkville. An LSU player lowered the boom and delivered a thunderous ‘truck stick’ to a defender who will almost certainly feel it in the morning.
LSU freshman Kaleb Jackson might not have a better highlight reel play for the rest of his life. Jackson took a hand-off from the quarterback, Daniels, and ran left. Mississippi State freshman Isaac Smith was in Jackson’s way, so there was only one move he could make.
Jackson ran right through Smith. He hit the ‘truck stick’ on him and then some, lowering the boom with authority.
The play excited ESPN’s Joe Tessitore whose voice heightened after seeing it happen. Naturally, the play caused quite a stir online and drew a significant reaction.
It’s fair to say that Jackson introduced himself to the college football world in incredible fashion on Saturday with that truck stick move. If you didn’t know, now you most certainly do.
LSU got off to a poor start to the season but has since rebounded. The Tigers won 41-14 over the Bulldogs in a rout led by the play of wide receiver Malik Nabers. Nabers caught 13 passes for 239 yards and two touchdowns.
