An East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office spokesperson says that LSU Tigers cornerback Javien Toviano turned himself in to authorities Sunday after being accused of video voyeurism.
Toviano, 19, is accused of recording himself having sex with a woman without her consent, according to the arrest warrant. The woman told detectives she found videos of the two on Toviano’s iPad that were recorded on a clock with a built-in camera placed near the bed.
The unnamed woman said to police that Toviano had taped them before having sex without her permission and she asked him not to.
Toviano admitted to using a hidden camera inside the clock to record the sexual encounters, the arrest warrant says.
As of now, LSU says Toviano “has been suspended from all team activities, in accordance with departmental policies.” The Tigers will begin practice on August 1.
The 19-year-old from Arlington, Texas was a Top 100 player coming out of high school and was expected to compete this season for a starting position. He finished his freshman season with 33 tackles and one pass breakup playing both cornerback and nickel.
Now that he has been removed from the team, at least for now, you have to wonder if this may be the end of his career as an LSU Tiger.
