It looks like the Texas A&M Aggies will be making a pretty major change at their head coaching position as the team is reportedly parting ways with head coach Jimbo Fisher after a string of disappointing seasons.
According to a report from Billy Liucci of TexasAgs.com, Texas A&M has decided to fire Jimbo Fisher and the move could come as a early as Sunday.
“BREAKING: Per multiple sources, Texas A&M set to part ways with Jimbo Fisher as early as today. Decision was reached at the recommendation of the Athletic Dept/University president during last Thursday’s Board of Regents meeting,” Liucci said in a post on X, the social media website that was formerly known as Twitter.
The move would actually come following a blowout win over the Mississippi State Bulldogs, but aside from that win, it’s been a disappointing year for the Aggies who have just a 6-4 record so far this season despite having national title aspirations each of the past two seasons.
The disappointing season this year coupled with the underperforming 5-7 season last year seems to have convinced the decision-makers at Texas A&M that Fisher is simply not the answer in the long run, and they’ll be making a move to replace him.
