Jimbo Fisher discusses Nick Saban feud

When Alabama Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban called out Texas A&M and their recruiting tactics during the offseason, it set off a feud between him and Jimbo Fisher that threatened to boil over when the two teams met in the college football season.

That game is almost upon us as the No. 1 Tide host the Aggies this weekend. Even though Texas A&M has been disappointing, tumbling out of the rankings with a 3-2 record so far, all eyes are on Saban and Jimbo as they prepare to meet on the field.

For his part, Fisher says that the feud, which saw the two coaches calling one another out, is over.

”That’s over with. He and I are in great shape and we’ve moved on,” Fisher told KBTX.

The Texas A&M coach then recounted how he learned a lot from working with Saban, whom he was an assistant for previously.

“I’ve been around some successful people, so you learn a lot of things. Nick’s just a tremendous coach, arguably people would say he’s one of the best ever or the best ever. That could very well be. No doubt, there’s a huge argument for that. You pick up things from the organization, the structure, the offense, the defense, those things stick with you. There are multiple things. You learn from all of them. I learned a whole lot from Nick. He’s a very, very good football coach,” Fisher said.

While the Aggies have been a disappointment so far this season, Jimbo is hoping he’s got another miracle up his sleeve and can upset the Tide for the second-straight year, though everyone assumes that Saban has had this game scheduled on his calendar since the summer.
