It’s no real secret that Jimbo Fisher has not exactly lived up to expectations since becoming the head coach of the Texas A&M Aggies. It’s also no real secret that his absolutely massive buyout is a major reason why he has such strong job security. But according to a recent report, that buyout might not save his job for much longer.
According to a report from college football insider Bruce Feldman of The Athletic on Tuesday, Jimbo Fisher is indeed on the hot seat after failing to live up to expectations at Texas A&M, and the school would be willing to find a way to fire him even despite the massive $76 million buyout he would be owed.
“Texas A&M, I’m told, will find the money to get rid of him if he can’t get this thing going — and yes, it absolutely does matter to important folks down there that Texas has a chance to be a College Football Playoff team this year … and Steve Sarkisian has been on the job for half as long as Jimbo,” Feldman reported on Tuesday.
It’s certainly a bit of brutal news for Fisher as his job is by no means secure, and the college football world had a lot to say about it on social media as a result.

We’ll have to see if Fisher can get things turned around in College Station.
