The Michigan Wolverines have emerged as one of the best and most dominant teams in the country this college football season and they’re led by star quarterback JJ McCarthy, who has emerged as one of the most dominant players in the country. And after the team’s recent win against Michigan State, head coach Jim Harbaugh had some high praise for McCarthy.
During his postgame press conference on Saturday, Jim Harbaugh called JJ McCarthy a “double edged sword” for his running ability and passing ability, referencing one play in particular.
“A real high trust level that J.J. is going to make the play,” Harbaugh said postgame. “Yeah, they had the perfect defense called. One was a really well timed blitz that got home. I mean, there must have been seven guys in the backfield. He looked like Oz the Magnificent on that one. Incredible.
“And then he’s just so dangerous when he’s out of the pocket, keeps his eyes downfield and just picks the open receiver and or runs it himself. It’s a double edged sword with J.J. McCarthy. He is the double edged sword. Can beat you in so many ways.”
We’ll have to see if McCarthy can continue to lead this offense to success as they face some big matchups against Penn State and Ohio State.
