On Monday, United States President Donald Trump hosted the Ohio State Buckeyes at the White House to commemorate the Buckeyes’ National Championship victory over the Notre Dame Fighting Irish in January.

Unfortunately, what was supposed to be a feel-good moment for the Buckeyes turned disastrous during a photo op. Vice President JD Vance, himself a native of Ohio and an Ohio State alum, not to mention an alleged die-hard Buckeyes football fan, attempted to hoist the national championship trophy.

Unfortunately, disaster followed. In a video that is making the rounds online, the championship trophy fell apart as Vance tried to raise it.

People reacted to the video on social media.

“Everything this administration touches has fallen apart so no surprise here!” one person wrote on Twitter.

“Symbolic of our economy under Trump/Vance, ” another person who evidently isn’t a fan of the Trump administration tanking the global economy added.

“If this isn’t a clear example of this administration, I don’t know what is,” another person added.

“1st administration: trump attacked by eagle. 2nd administration: vance breaks a trophy. Everything about America hates these people,” someone else wrote.

It’ll be interesting if this ends up being a dangerous omen for the Buckeys and their troubled head coach, Ryan Day.
