A Georgia woman was charged in the Bahamas for plotting to kill her husband who is an ex Auburn football player.
Robert Shiver, who was a long snapper at Auburn from 2006-2008, was going to divorce his wife Lindsay after he found out she was having an affair with a man named Terrence Bethel from the Bahamas.
Shiver, 36, along with Bethel and 28, of Guana Cay, Abaco, and hitman Farron Newbold Jr., 28, of the Bahamas were all arrested for their murder plot.
The Bahamian police say they uncovered the plot on July 16, while searching the phone and social media app of a suspected burglar.
“On July 16, 2023 at Abaco, while being together did, with a common purpose agree to commit an offense, namely the murder of Richard Shiver,” said the police report.
The Shiver’s own property in the Bahamas where Lindsay Shiver started her affair with Bethel. When Robert Shiver found out, he decided to seek a divorce from his wife and not too long afterward, according to reports, the trio got together to plot his murder.
The trio didn’t enter a plea but are expected to return to court in October. For now, they are being held in a Bahamian jail.
No word yet on how many years they could face if found guilty of the crime.
