NFL legend Kurt Warner’s son just announced a transfer decision.
E.J. Warner will move from the Temple Owls to the Rice Owls, he announced. Warner revealed his intentions to play for Rice University in Texas on X, the website formerly known as Twitter.
“Committed to Rice University!” Warner posted. The post included an edited graphic of the quarterback in a Rice uniform.
It’s not too often that you’ll see someone go from Owls to Owls in sports, but that’s our situation. After two seasons in Philadelphia, Warner now heads to Houston, where he hopes to find more success.
He’s not the first notable quarterback in recent memory to go to Rice, either. J.T. Daniels, a veteran college football quarterback who’s spent time at Southern Cal, West Virginia, and Georgia in his career, also played at Rice this past season.
Elijah is the son of NFL legend Kurt Warner. From 1999-2001, Warner commanded ‘The Greatest Show on Turf’ with the St. Louis Rams and won two NFL MVP awards. He also won Super Bowl 34 and took the Rams to Super Bowl 36. Later, he also took the Arizona Cardinals to the Super Bowl in the 2008 season. He’s one of the greatest success stories in NFL history and also one of the most prolific passers to ever play the game.
