On Monday morning, the Georgia Bulldogs landed an absolutely massive commitment from five-star quarterback Dylan Raiola, who is the top overall player in the 2024 high school recruiting class. He’s pretty consistently considered the most talented quarterback prospect in the country, and at least one SEC offensive coach even thinks he might be better than Arch Manning.
Arch Manning, who is currently enrolled with the Texas Longhorns, was the No. 1 overall player in the 2023 high school recruiting class before signing with Texas. But college football expert Matt Zenitz spoke to an SEC offensive coach who thinks that Dylan Raiola might actually be the better quarterback prospect.
“In my opinion, he has a higher ceiling than Arch,” an anonymous SEC offensive coach told Zenitz this week.
Obviously, both players are quite talented – they wouldn’t have been ranked as the No. 1 overall prospects in the country if they weren’t. But it’s safe to say that both will be compared to each other throughout their college football careers, for better or for worse.
Making things even more interesting, there’s a very good chance that Manning and Raiola eventually meet on the field one day with Texas soon joining the Georgia Bulldogs in the SEC.
So things could get pretty interesting.
