Recently, Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver DeVonta Smith was asked to rank the top wide receivers of all time at Alabama and his list might surprise you.

On Smith’s list, his No. 1 is Julio Jones. He says for obvious reasons.

“Julio got to be one,” he said. “Julio was just on another level. A true run-first offense. He was the only — like, Julio. No. 1.” Jones was one of the first players out of the Nick Saban era that was taken as a No. 1 draft choice and he set the table for other big-name receivers to come after him.

His No. 2 is Amari Cooper. Cooper was also one of the top wide receivers taken out of the Nick Saban era as a No. 1 pick for the then Oakland Raiders who would later trade him to the Dallas Cowboys where he made a huge impact on that team for several years before being traded again to the Cleveland Browns.

Now the list gets a little dicey after that. He has Calvin Ridley third, Jerry Jeudy fourth and himself fifth. Smith, who won the Heisman Trophy back in 2020 and the national championship, ranked himself as only the fifth greatest receiver of all time.

Another shocker, he didn’t have teammates Jaylen Waddle or Henry Ruggs on that list, however, everyone listed was at one point a No. 1 draft pick, so he couldn’t go wrong with whom he picked.
