On Wednesday afternoon, the Colorado Buffaloes gave an unfortunate update on head coach Deion Sanders, revealing that he would be unable to represent the team at upcoming Big 12 Media Days due to an upcoming procedure on his leg. And now, Sanders himself is offering an update on his condition.
On Wednesday, Deion Sanders posted a video on Instagram with what appeared to be a physician where he confirmed that he will indeed be having “a couple surgeries” on his leg on Thursday.
“I apologize that I am not going to be at the Pac-12 Media Day,” Sanders said according to ESPN. “I have to have another surgery tomorrow. A couple surgeries. One in my leg to remove the clots… I’m really dislocated on the bottom.”
But Sanders was very optimistic, making it clear that whatever happens, he will still have “my ability.”
“This is how the devil works,” Sanders said in the video. “He thinks that if he can stop my mobility, he can stop my ability. He can’t do that. You can’t stop my mobility, first and foremost, and that don’t stop my ability. My ability is God-given. You can’t touch that.”
The college football world continues to pray for a smooth and speedy recovery for Sanders.
