As the CFP National Championship turned into a beatdown in the first half, many college football fans quickly pounced on the TCU Horned Frogs, believing they didn’t belong.
But then a funny thing happened — other fans stepped up to defend the Horned Frogs. They pointed out that the Georgia Bulldogs are capable of doing this to anyone, and that TCU’s fate could have befallen any other team that played the ‘Dawgs. They are that good.
The debate was certainly more interesting than the brutal blowout unfolding on ESPN.
“Is Georgia really fast or TCU really slow? Yikes!” tweeted former NFL tight end Zach Potter.
Boston sportscaster Steve Sullivan tweeted, “We all complain about blue bloods battling for the National Title. This has been bad to watch from the jump. TCU is in way over its head.”
“Hearing reports that TCU left the stadium at halftime and boarded the buses,” tweeted the Portland Pickles baseball team.
“Yes, TCU deserved to be in the playoffs,” Bradley Stewart tweeted. “They handled undefeated Michigan in the Semis. To say they don’t deserve it bc they’re getting blown out by UGA and it’s not fun for you to watch is wrong. The only SEC team to play UGA to single digits was Missouri.”
Ivan Ornelas tweeted, “TCU beat Michigan. TCU getting blown out by Georgia doesn’t change that TCU earned their spot in this game. Georgia is simply the better team.”
“The most insufferable thing about TCU being blown out by UGA isn’t the UGA fans, it’s the Bama fans that are arguing that THIS is why they deserved to be in lol,” tweeted a fan.

“Big 12 conference is a joke. TCU should have never been allowed in. There’s levels to this type of ball,” Kaleb Earls tweeted.
