The USC Trojans took on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Saturday in a huge matchup. And as it’s been throughout the season, the star of the game for USC was quarterback, Caleb Williams.
Following Ohio State’s loss to Michigan on Saturday, Williams became the favorite to win the Heisman Trophy over Buckeyes quarterback C.J. Stroud.
He obviously had a lot to prove against Notre Dame, and he certainly did not disappoint.
Williams starred in a huge 38-27 victory for USC, throwing for 232 passing yards along with four total touchdowns, with a ton of impressive highlights throughout the game.

Perhaps his most impressive play came in the third quarter, where Williams evaded a ton of pressure and miraculously turned what could have been a massive loss into a wild 19-yard gain.

Williams clearly noticed the hype around himself as the Heisman Trophy favorite and broke out the classic Heisman pose after his second rushing touchdown of the game.

It was a massive win for both USC and Williams, and many believe that this performance may have locked up the Heisman Trophy for Williams this year.
It is official, ladies & gentlemen. This kid @CALEBcsw of @uscfb has just secured the Heisman Trophy. It’s not even anything to talk about after what I’ve seen everyone else do today. It’s Williams of @uscfb y’all. Period!

Caleb Williams might have clinched the Heisman tonight. Face-, arm-, legs-of-the program guy. Already a @uscfb legend.

The Heisman is now a 2 man race.
Caleb Williams and Max Duggan.
The Transfer who helped a gaggle of Transfers bring USC back.
The Quarterback who started the year as QB2 after being a 3 year starter, but never wavered and came back to lead TCU to 12-0.

Heading into Saturday, USC saw themselves on the outside looking in at a potential College Football Playoff spot.
However, with both Ohio State and LSU losing on Saturday, it seems very clear that USC will likely jump two spots into the No. 4 ranking and into the final playoff spot. With a win in the Pac-12 championship game on Friday, December 2, USC will likely clinch its first trip to the College Football Playoff.
