The Alabama Crimson Tide may have been handed a huge blow. Leading 14-0, Heisman Trophy quarterback Bryce Young may have injured his shoulder and has been out of the game since almost the beginning of the second quarter.
It appears that Young may have injured his shoulder when he was running out of bounds by former Crimson Tide linebacker Drew Sanders. When Young fell out of bounds, he landed on his throwing shoulder.
No official word of how serious Young’s injury is and if he will return this afternoon but so far, his being out hasn’t hurt the Tide as they lead the Arkansas Razorbacks 28-7 going into halftime.
Before he was injured, Young had two touchdowns, one passing, and one throwing and he was on his way to having a huge afternoon, now his status is up in the air and unknown.
The Tide may be able to win this game without him, however, they may miss him down the stretch with Texas A&M and Tennessee coming up later this month.
Young’s passing and running ability is one of the reasons the Tide continues to roll, but without him, even if it’s for a short period of time, it may be tough for a team that is expected to contend for another national championship.
