The college football world was turned upside down when Oklahoma Sooners quarterback John Mateer was accused of sports gambling due to his Venmo transaction history.
“Oklahoma QB John Mateer has allegedly engaged in sports betting, including on NCAA football games such as UCLA vs USC, according to Venmo transactions. NCAA rules prohibit athletes from wagering on any NCAA-sanctioned events,” reported Bryan Aguada on Monday.
This has led to internet detectives searching the Venmo transaction history of other collegiate athletes, and what they found from Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning definitely raises some eyebrows.
In a picture shared on Twitter, Manning’s Venmo transaction history shows 8-ball emojis and “za” references, both of which allude to drugs such as cocaine and weed.
Fans reacted to the shocking development on social media.
“Risking your career for a lil side coke money….. this is the greatest white boy of all time. His parents raised him well, he’s gonna be the best QB ever if he doesn’t get hurt,” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“The manning QB genes, he’s the plug and smokes ? This genuinely could be the greatest individual athlete of all time when it’s all said and done,” someone else added.
“Met him at my local watering hole the tavern and can confirm,” another fan alleged.
Hopefully, none of this is true and Manning stays out of trouble and focuses on what is such a promising career.
