Texas Longhorns quarterback Arch Manning is finally in line to spend an entire season at the helm as the starter. Last season, Mannign received a handful of starts while Quinn Ewers dealt with an injury.
In his limited action, Manning showed that he could strike fear into opposing defenses both through the air and as a rushing threat with his legs. However, when he was medically cleared, Ewers reclaimed the starting job.
With Ewers having declared for this month’s NFL draft, Manning has no competition heading into the 2025 season. From the sounds of it, Manning is taking full advantage of his opportunity.
“All the buzz around Arch Manning is good buzz. There’s calm around the position and his performances. He’s playing like a player who knows everything that’s being asked of him and he’s delivering. Very few turnovers,” reported Orangebloods.com Geoff Ketchum.
Fans reacted to the news on social media.
“Undefeated season! Natty! Heisman! He’s going to break every single record ever written! Can’t lose! Everyone else is not worthy!” one fan wrote on Twitter.
“Glaze. I’ll wait until I see him play vs Ohio State, UF, or Oklahoma. Then get back to me,” another fan wrote.
“Of course they are gonna say this, take it for what it’s worth. Doesn’t mean anything until texas goes into the Horseshoe then we’ll know for sure. I fully expect Buckeye domination and deer in the headlights look from little archie,” someone else added.
It’ll be interesting to see if Manning can live up to the offseason hype.
