Texas Longhorns five-star freshman quarterback Arch Manning is one of the most highly-anticipated quarterback prospects in the country as he heads into the 2023 college football season. As a result, he’s seen as one of the most valuable players in the name, image, and likeness market – but his value has recently dropped considerably.

In the latest On3 NIL Valuation, Arch Manning saw his value drop by six figures. And as Pete Nakos of On3 explains, this is because Quinn Ewers was named the Texas Longhorns starter over Manning this weekend.

“But it is clear, however, Manning won’t be starting games immediately this fall which is why his On3 NIL Valuation dropped $362,000 to $3.4 million on Tuesday morning,” Nakos wrote.

It’s quite a slide for Manning, and the college football world had plenty to say about it on Twitter.

Nakos points out that despite this, Manning still ranks No. 1 in college football and No. 3 in the On3 NIL 100, which ranks the top 100 high school and college athletes by their On3 NIL Valuation.

“Performance, influence and exposure are three of the primary factors used to create an athlete’s individual Roster Value and Brand Value and ultimately their On3 NIL Valuation. Even if he isn’t playing much this season, Manning still has strong influence and performance scores. Influence is heavily swayed by an athlete’s social media authority, while performance focuses on winning national awards and performing well in big games,” Nakos wrote.

It’s clear that On3 still expects Manning to be a star in college football – just not quite yet.
