LSU Tigers star Angel Reese was honored ahead of her Senior Day game against Kentucky on Sunday. And her ceremony featured a guest appearance from one of the most recognizable LSU alumni that there is.
Reese has still yet to decide on whether or not she will stay for her final season of eligibility at LSU next year, or potentially declare for the upcoming 2024 WNBA Draft. She even took to social media recently to express how she is still undecided on what she will ultimately do.
“Should I stay, should I go? I don’t know,” tweeted Reese last month.
With that in mind, this could very well be the final time that she steps foot on the LSU home court for a regular season game as a member of the team, a special moment for any player.
Reese was lucky enough to be accompanied by LSU legend Shaquille O’Neal, along with her family, for her Senior Day ceremony.
Reese has previously shared that she and O’Neal have a special bond that dates back to some advice that he gave her on how to deal with her newfound fame after LSU’s National Championship victory last season.
Regardless, it’s awesome to see that O’Neal was a part of Reese’s special moment. Many fans praised O’Neal for graciously being there for Reese.
Shaq is that favorite uncle who’ll always be there when you need him the most https://t.co/tlmczxDJz3

As far as how the actual game went for Reese individually and LSU as a team, it was pretty much as perfect as fans could have hoped for. Reese finished the game with 22 points, 14 rebounds, five blocks, and three steals in a 77-56 victory.
