The Cavinder Twins consisting of Hanna and Haley Cavinder skipped out on the 2023-24 college basketball season to pursue other opportunities, including the plan to pursue a career in the WWE. But it now seems like they have reversed course, as both will be returning to college basketball for the upcoming 2024-25 season.

Both Hanna and Haley have massive platforms on social media, with 4.5 million followers on the popular platform TikTok, which was seemingly why the two opted to stop playing college basketball and pursue other opportunities that could perhaps be more fruitful.

But since their departure, women’s college basketball has grown rapidly thanks to the rise to stardom from Caitlin Clark. It is now one of the most popular sports not only at the collegiate level but may also be on par with some professional sports as well in terms of viewership.

This could be a factor in their decision on Wednesday. Both Hanna and Haley announced that they will be returning to college basketball next season, but will be doing so on two different teams.

Hanna will be staying at the University of Miami, where she played for the 2022-23 season. Meanwhile, Haley opted to transfer to TCU last year despite not playing for the team this past season, so she will be playing for the Horned Frogs next season.

The decision makes sense for Haley considering she has been officially dating Dallas Cowboys star tight end Jake Ferguson since this past October. So she will be close to him as he gets prepared for the 2024-25 NFL season.

It should certainly be interesting to see how both Haley and Hanna perform after a year away from college basketball. But at the very least, their return should bring even more eyes to women’s college basketball.
