Wofford guard Fletcher Magee became the NCAA’s all-time leader in three-pointers made, and he picked a great game to set the record. The Terriers took down the Seton Hall Pirates 84-68 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament, with the game televised on CBS (rare territory for Wofford). Magee — a two-time Southern Conference Player of the Year — led the way for Wofford with 24 points, and was 7-of-14 on three-pointers. That gives Magee 509 career three-pointers, breaking the record of 504 three-pointers held by former Oakland guard Travis Bader.
Wofford finished the game on an incredible 17-2 run, and it included three-pointer No. 509 from Magee on a high-difficulty, catch-and-release fadeaway from the corner. For this one CBS play-by-play man Ian Eagle had a particularly fantastic call.
“OOOH BULLSEYE! FLETCHER MAGEE… IS NOT HUMAN!”
It doesn’t get better than Ian Eagle in March Madness.
And here’s the record-setting 505th three-pointer from Magee:
