These positive tests come during Phase 2 of the NHL's return-to-play plan, involving players conducting small-group voluntary workouts.
Five players and three staffers from the Phillies' facility in Clearwater, Florida have tested positive for COVID-19. And some other players and staffers are awaiting test results.
Elliott's agent confirmed the news and said that "Elliott is feeling good."
Houston did not test the student-athletes for COVID-19 before the voluntary workouts.
It would be a 22-game season beginning in July, with the playoffs concluding in October.
More details of the NBA's proposed return-to-play timeline emerged Tuesday.
There's reportedly "growing support" for the 22-team NBA season plan.
Most of the NBA general managers would like the season to end no later than Oct. 1.
