On Saturday, Madison Square Garden will host their first boxing event that’s headlined by women. In what is the most anticipated women’s boxing match ever, Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano will square off in the main event for the Undisputed Lightweight Championship.
WWE’s historic home is Madison Square Garden and they will be collaborating with DAZN to promote the fight. A total of 10 WWE superstars will be taking part doing various things to promote the fight. For the boxers, along with receiving the title belts signifying them as the Undisputed Lightweight Champion, the winner of the fight will receive a replica of the Raw Women’s Championship.
Raw Women’s Champion Bianca Belair and Becky Lynch will have a sizable role in the festivities leading up to the fight. Belair will be backing Amanda Serrano, the challenger from Puerto Rico. At 42-1-1, Serrano is the WBC, WBO, and IBO Featherweight Title holder but is moving up a weight class.
Lynch will be with fellow Irishwoman Katie Taylor, the Undisputed Lightweight Champion. At 20-0, Taylor is undefeated and has a gold medal from the 2012 Summer Olympics. Serrano will be Taylor’s biggest test yet.
Belair and Lynch will follow their respective fighter as they learn about their journey and preparation for the fight and will attend Friday’s weigh-in. In addition to the two of them, eight other superstars will be promoting the fight and backing one of the fighters. In Serrano’s corner will be Charlotte Flair, Alexa Bliss, Queen Zelina, and Damian Priest while Sasha Banks, Finn Bálor, Sheamus, and Shayna Baszler will be backing Taylor.
