It wouldn’t be a high-profile boxing match without a controversial result on the judges’ scorecards, but the Tyson Fury-Deontay Wilder fight Saturday almost didn’t make it that far. Fury seemed to be ahead for much of the match, but in the 12th round, it looked like Wilder scored a knockout against him. But Fury somehow managed to rise on a count of six:
Deontay Wilder knocked down Tyson Fury and he got back up

In the end, the judges called it a draw, and many weren’t happy about that (language warning):
The biggest robbery I’ve ever seen in boxing! Fury won 10 out of 12 rounds

Fury got robbed… He put on a great performance despite the knockdowns. I wouldn’t mind seeing a rematch.@ShowtimeBoxing #WildFury

And that's why boxing haemorrhaged viewers and interest for a generation!
Pure fucking corruption!
Fury was the only one boxing, schooled the lad who eventually got lucky with the "I'll just chuck arms like a windmill " method.
Absolute sporting travesty!

Shades of Lewis-Holyfield-1. Fury boxed beautifully and was robbed really. Wilder saved by two knockdowns. Otherwise taken to school.

Wilder knows he lost! You can hear it in his voice!!! Daylight Robbery

F*ck my f*cking arse. A draw.
Look at their faces. Wilder delighted, Fury gutted. pic.twitter.com/DrdIFYs47q

But, there were also some (well in the minority, though) unhappy Wilder didn’t win outright:
Terribke decision! Wilder definitely won. 2 knockdown! Fury is the more skilled boxer, but 2 knockdowns?!

At any rate, this produced some great looks at Wilder’s face:

And some Undertaker references:

In any case, that’s certainly a memorable fight. Even if Fury’s tubthumping didn’t pay off in the end. And there’s a rematch on the way, and if it’s anything like this one, it should be worth watching.
