Former Alabama stars Bryce Young and Tua Tagovailoa shared the field on Sunday. Young’s Carolina Panthers fell short to Tua and his high-flying Miami Dolphins. While the Panthers have been lowly this season, there’s probably no shame right now in losing there. Tagovailoa provided some perspective while sending a message to the fellow former Crimson Tide star.

Joe Schad posted that Tagovailoa, after the game, said at the press conference, “Bryce Young is doing a tremendous job. There are going to be rookie mistakes. He will continue to grow. I told him the naysayers are an external factor. Believe in yourself.”

Tagovailoa took a lot of lumps himself before his emergence this season. Many panned him and the Dolphins for taking him high in the 2020 NFL Draft. But Tua has broken through and led the highest-scoring offense in the NFL this season. The Dolphins look great on both offense and defense, especially so on offense. Miami’s stars showed out as Tyreek Hill, Raheem Mostert, and Jaylen Waddle all scored touchdowns in the win.

Young and the Panthers’ struggles continued with the loss. While they did put up points, and while they were out in front, it’s hard to take many positives away again after another listless performance. But, as Tua said, the struggles will happen.
