The popular ESPN 30 for 30 documentary series will tackle a topic that everyone appears to be excited about.
On Friday night, Deadline reported that the network has greenlit a documentary about legendary sportscaster Stuart Scott.
The late Scott died in 2015 after a long battle with cancer.
Awful Announcing was among those to rummage about the exciting news this weekend.
“Currently in production, the film tells the story of the broadcaster who shattered preconceived notions of how on-air figures were expected to look, talk, act, and think-and in the process, helped bring hip-hop and Black culture into the sports media mainstream,” Deadline wrote.
Scott is one of the most transcendent and important sports broadcasters of his time. His style, wit, sense of humor, and personality influenced an entire generation of sports fans and aspiring broadcasters. Scott was one of the most recognizable faces in the sports media world when he was in his prime of sportscasting.
He’s also one of ESPN’s most important figures, so it’s no surprise that the network would choose to highlight him in its longstanding incredible docuseries..
Stuart’s passing was tremendously sad and the impact he left on the industry was significant. It’s fair to say that everyone who was a fan of Stuart Scott’s will be looking forward to this documentary. Now, all we need is a teaser.
The sports world had much to say about the Stuart Scott 30 for 30.
Not emotionally prepared for this doc.
Still miss him. https://t.co/i0n9Opvsaf

I’m going to guess the grad speech he gave to my class will be part of this.
Do yourself a favor and read his book. You’ll be better off that you did https://t.co/n5CN4RQ6xS
