Colin Cowherd had some choice words about ESPN’s JJ Redick this week, and the NBA analyst and former college hoops great has responded.
Redick’s name is rumored to be in the mix for the open Los Angeles Lakers coaching job. The Lakers moved on from head coach Darvin Ham after their first-round exit at the hands of the Denver Nuggets. Obviously, there’s a lot of pressure in LA, but that’s not why Cowherd questioned Redick. He did so for another reason that has some issues holding up.
Why does Cowherd not think Redick could be a coach? It’s because he wears his hat backward. “He looks like a guy that’s going to move my couch,” Cowherd noted in a rant on The Herd.
“I don’t like that look at all,” Cowherd said. “JJ Redick is talking basketball at a different level. And look at this guy.”
Redick took to X to emphatically respond to what Cowherd said.
Yeah, that’s about right. That definitely follows Redick and his rationale on things. He very famously ranted on First Take about media coverage on the sport. So, it’s no surprise that this take got a hearty laugh out of him.
It remains unclear if Redick will actually be the next Lakers coach. But for now, plenty chimed in after his response to Cowherd’s ridiculous claims. Including LeBron James!
