The NFL world is buzzing on Christmas Day. It’s been a busy afternoon and early evening; everyone just witnessed NFL history. Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts rolled into the end zone yet again, and it wasn’t exceptional for no reason.
Hurts’ 15th rushing touchdown of the season, this one coming against the New York Giants was a historic touchdown. No quarterback in NFL history has ever run for more touchdowns in a single season. That honor and distinction now belongs solely to Hurts.
ESPN was among many to point out Hurts’ history-making touchdown.
This season might not be as loud or as exciting as last year’s for Hurts and the Eagles. However, this is nothing to thumb your nose at. Setting an NFL record is something to froth over, certainly (as long as the Eagles take care of business; right now, they’re leaking).
On the season entering Christmas Day, Hurts is 303 for 461 with 3,335 passing yards, 19 touchdowns, and 12 interceptions. Meanwhile, on the ground entering Monday, Hurts had 139 carries for 542 yards.
While Hurts is likely no longer in the NFL MVP discussion, he and the Eagles still have a great window open. They’re still projected to be in the NFL Playoffs as of right now and are just tailing rival Dallas by only a little bit. So, for their sake, they’ll ride this month out and get back in prime position.

An impressive feat to be sure… but how many of those are from the brotherly shove?

Opinions are mixed, but the numbers… are the numbers.
