The Georgia Bulldogs have assembled one of the best programs in the nation. Their talent has proven otherworldly at times, and as a result, they’ve had numerous Heisman Trophy candidates over the years. Quarterback Carson Beck is among them this year.

Beck is a preseason Heisman candidate in every sense. He plays the most important position in the sport for what will likely be one of the best teams in the nation. Beck recently spoke about how those two things go hand in hand.

“It is 100% a team trophy,” Beck said at the Manning Passing Academy this week.

“As a quarterback, my success is very much dependent on the offensive line,” Beck continued. “It’s very much dependent on how our running backs play. It’s very much dependent on if our defense can get stops.”

Beck added that everyone has to do their part. And, “at the end of the day, it is very much a team-oriented goal. But, obviously, it’s not my main goal. But, if I was able to get there, obviously it’d be a dream come true.”

2024 will be Beck’s fifth season at UGA. Last year, he threw for 3,941 yards, completed 72.4 percent of his passes, and tossed 24 touchdowns to six interceptions.

He’ll likely hear his name in Heisman conversations all year long. Fittingly, that will probably come for as long as the Dawgs keep winning.
