Marvin Harrison Jr. was one of the best wide receiver prospects in the nation heading into the 2024 NFL Draft. But well after the Arizona Cardinals drafted him, the rookie has gotten involved in a murky situation.
Harrison is now entangled in a lawsuit with Fanatics. The merchandising company is suing the wide receiver over breach of contract.
ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter reported the details.
“Fanatics filed a lawsuit today in NY SUpreme Court against rookie WR Marvin Harrison Jr. for breach of contract,” Schefter wrote. “Harrison’s team says it has no contact while the lawsuit states the two sides have a signed autograph agreement dating back to last May worth more than $1 million.” Schefter posted the news on X, the website formerly known as Twitter.
Schefter’s report says Fanatics claims “Harison has refused to fulfill his obligations to the deal while he also ‘public asserted’ that the contract does not exist.” Details of the contract were reportedly redacted.
Harrison hasn’t signed an agreement with the NFL Players Association’s group licensing agreement. That agreement would let the union be able to market him to dozens of companies.
Fanatics “estimates” that the damages are in the “millions.” Full details can be found in the entire ESPN report.
