Dylan Cease provided some excitement for afternoon baseball goers on Thursday. The San Diego Padres pitcher hurled a no-hitter, which is always a fun time.
Cease put the Washington Nationals through it on Thursday afternoon in D.C. The Padres right-hander stifled hitters all day and worked them to the point of no return.
Cease’s no-hitter is the first of the accomplished pitcher’s career.
Cease’s no-hitter is the second no-hitter of the 2024 MLB season. In April, Houston Astros hurler Ronel Blanco threw one of his own. There have been six no-hitters in MLB since the start of the 2023 season. It’s also the second no-hitter in San Diego Padres franchise history.
As you might expect, the MLB world was ready to celebrate Cease and his epic performance.
