Chris Harris Jr. recently retired from the National Football League. A former undrafted defensive back out of Kansas, Harris went on to become one of the best players in the league in the 2010s. A member of Denver’s ‘No Fly Zone,’ Harris Jr. helped lead the Broncos to a Super Bowl championship in the 2015 season.
Harris stepped away from the NFL earlier this offseason after a near 15-year career. Considering his status in the league as one of the best slot cornerbacks to play the game, his voice carries a lot of weight. Plus, Harris Jr. played alongside Aqib Talib in Denver, and when they were at their peak, they were one of-if not the best duo in the NFL.
The former Broncos star joined Kay Adams on Up & Adams this week. Adams asked him who he thinks is the best cornerback duo in the league right now.
“I’m gonna have to go with the Cowboys,” Harris said. “I like Bland and I like Diggs. Hopefully he comes back healthy. I wish they would pick up Steph back to complete their secondary,” he added, referring to veteran cornerback Stephon Gilmore.
Harris’ choice isn’t a bad one, as Daron Bland and Trevon Diggs are two great ball-hawks who’ve totaled big interception totals over the past few seasons. It’s hard to argue that point, and so Harris’ answer tracks on numerous levels.
