Bryce Harper took well to his new position of first base on Friday. Harper just made an incredible web gem that caused a huge stir among MLB fans.
Harper and the Philadelphia Phillies welcomed NL East rival Atlanta to Citizens Bank Park to begin the season. And early on, there’s already been some great action.
With Ronald Acuna Jr. on base, Matt Olson stepped to the plate. Zack Wheeler dealt a 2-2 pitch to Olson that screamed off the first baseman’s bat.
Fortunately, for the Phillies, the ball went from one first baseman to another. Harper laid out and made a sensational grab that had Phillies fans buzzing.
Harper has been in MLB since the early 2010s, and we’ve seen him grow up and mature into one of the best players in the sport. Often underrated, Harper has shown tremendous power, clutch, and ability throughout his Major League career. While he’s yet to win a World Series championship, Bryce is still one of the most recognizable faces in the sport.
This catch should only do him more favor.
Sometimes we’ve seen plenty of web gems occur early in the season. This was certainly the case, as Bryce’s grab popped the crowd in Philadelphia and fans all over the MLB world.
Those fans had much to say about the sensational Bryce Harper catch.
