The NFL world was wowed by speed all day at the NFL Combine. A lot of that awe came from LSU standout Brian Thomas.

Thomas blazed his 40-yard dash with an unofficial time of 4.34 seconds. That’s quite the strong number, and talented receivers before have lucked out after clocking similar times.

Thomas is one of the best wide receiver prospects in the nation, and his incredible speed is just one of many reasons why. At LSU, he totaled 127 receptions, 1,897 yards, and 24 receiving touchdowns. Last year, he pulled in 68 receptions for 1,177 yards and 17 receiving touchdowns.

He’s sure to make some team happy this April, and his speed only increases the likelihood that he’ll be picked in Round 1.

LSU has traditionally sent wide receivers into the NFL in high numbers. Ja’Marr Chase, Justin Jefferson, Jarvis Landry, Odell Beckham Jr., and Jake Reed are just some of the best of the bunch who’ve excelled in Baton Rouge and professionally. Thomas is hoping to join that long and storied laundry list and excel on his own somewhere. So does Nabers.

The spotlight didn’t last too long for Thomas, as Texas’ Xavier Worthy posted an outstanding 4.22. But Thomas’ wrecking speed was surely headline-worthy anyway. With that being said, there were plenty that were left dazzled by Thomas and his brilliant speed.
