The Chicago Bears and quarterback Nathan Peterman just can’t quit one another.
It’s easy to lose track of how many times Peterman has been cut, signed the practice squad, elevated to the active roster, and cut again. But the cycle began anew this week.
Per ESPN’s Field Yates, the Bears are signing the veteran quarterback to their 53-man roster. Along with that, they have placed running back Khalil Herbert and wide receiver Equanimeous St. Brown on injured reserve.

Peterman appeared in three games for Chicago last season, going 0-1 as a starter and completing 56 percent of his passes for 139 yards, one touchdown, and one interception. This will be his third stint on the team’s active roster this season.
