The Chicago Bears drafted Caleb Williams with the first overall pick this year. The Southern Cal quarterback and 2022 Heisman Trophy winner is arguably the best quarterback prospect to ever hit the Windy City. There’s been an extraordinary amount of hype, and for good reason, around Williams and the Bears in 2024.

In the early goings of the 2024 season, Williams appears very confident.

The aplomb Williams and the Bears offense had a good day at the team’s mandatory minicamp. Bears podcast 79th and Halas acknowledged that wonderful day at the office by noting the offensive success that involved Rome Odunze, the team’s other first-round pick.

The good vibes are not ending anytime soon, either. During the team’s media availability after the minicamp session, Williams was very boastful about what he and the Bears have to offer this year.

“It’s pretty awesome,” said Williams via the Chicago Sun-Times on being able to work with a full unit on offense, which features Odunze, D.J. Moore, Keenan Allen, and Cole Kmet. “There’s a light at the end of that tunnel. Right now, we’re working with our head down, and we’re building, [but] just having that moment with myself — I do it every day — to sit there and say, ‘We’re gonna be pretty damn good.'”

The Bears quarterback added that he knows he must “keep going” but everyone is “excited” about what’s to come. That certainly includes fans and otherwise, as they’ve been waiting a century and then some for competent quarterback play in Chicago.
